Architect & Urbanist Consultant Vacancy at UN-Habitat BrazilLast date to Apply: 20/05/2025 Job Fields and Important DetailsPosition: Architect and Urbanist (Consultant) Organisation: United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) Country: Brazil City: Rio de Janeiro (Home-based work with occasional travel) No of Vacancies: N/A Project Name: Urban Qualification in a Key Neighbourhood of Belo Horizonte (Izidora) Skills and QualificationsPostgraduate degree in Architecture and Urbanism OR 4 additional years of relevant experience Minimum 6 years of experience in urbanistic or social housing projects in Brazil Desirable: Experience in informal settlements and UN system projects Strong analytical and technical skills in urban design and planning Experience with CAD and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) Fluent in Portuguese; working knowledge of English or Spanish is desirable Experience: 6+ years in architecture, urbanism, and social housing projects Salary: BRL 29,040.04 (total, net) for 6-month, part-time consultancy (SB-4/3, 38% part-time) UN-Habitat’s Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean (ROLAC), based in Rio de Janeiro, works with all tiers of government and civil society to promote sustainable and inclusive urban development. The Brazil office supports initiatives aligned with the New Urban Agenda and Sustainable Development Goals, especially in vulnerable informal settlements such as Izidora in Belo Horizonte. Job DescriptionThe consultant will contribute to the implementation of the Izidora project by producing technical analyses, 3D designs, architectural evaluations, compatibility reviews, and landscape assessments. Responsibilities include working with interdisciplinary teams, reviewing and proposing modifications to urban and housing plans, and ensuring outputs meet UN-Habitat’s standards. The consultant will produce six key deliverables over the contract duration and support technical coordination, documentation, and stakeholder collaboration. #J-18808-Ljbffr
