Quality Engineer, Product QA (In‑house Curitiba) Join us to fill the Quality Engineer, Product QA (In‑house Curitiba) role at Baker Hughes . Overview The Quality Engineer, Product QA will report solid line to the Regional Quality Manager and will be responsible for ensuring effective application of the Baker Hughes Quality Management System (QMS) and customer requirements for the relevant scope of work handled internally (in‑house) or externally (suppliers). The successful candidate will audit technical requirements, implement controls, and exercise problem solving, quality reporting and continuous improvement on a daily basis. Responsibilities Ensure product quality performance is reviewed and improved frequently at execution sites. Collaborate with Lean initiatives towards process improvements to ensure flawless execution. Lead first‑article process in suppliers and in‑house, ensuring product process is well established and aligned with product requirements using risk‑assessment tools such as FMEA. Run product quality audits and walks frequently to certify that product requirements are properly met. Act as a risk assessor for product manufacturing and identify and mitigate risks of execution. Support and/or lead Go‑No‑Go process for fabrication start and facilitate pre‑production meetings. Ensure operations Lessons Learned are captured, solved and communicated to Supply Chain and Product Delivery Team. Act as a quality agent for culture development, promoting workshops for continuous improvement. Ensure product non‑conformances are identified and technically reviewed to promote strategic actions. Implement and control product Key Performance Indicators. Communicate with colleagues and the business about approaches and methods for solving complex problems. Adhere to Product Line directives for standard quality requirements in fabrication sites. Witness product inspections and processes/product qualification inspections. Register critical observations, identify concerns and appropriately escalated to the respective levels of the organization. Lead manufacturing review processes for all new first‑article involving the relevant stakeholders. Act as an agent for implementing the Non‑Conformance Management process at extended sites. Required Characteristics Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering. Fluent English skills. Knowledge of local Brazilian customer quality requirements related to fabrication of subsea equipment including XT, manifolds and tooling. Previous experience in Quality Control for subsea equipment fabrication. Experience in product requirement audits. Knowledge in product quality inspection and documentation analysis. Experience in quality tools for developing improvement actions (A3, 8D, 5whys, fishbone, FMEA, 5S, Lean Six‑Sigma). Required Skills Strong leadership skills. Negotiation and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders. Clear thinker and effective communication. Problem‑solving skills. Interpretation of technical documentation from design drawing, specification and quality requirements. Ability to coordinate several activities simultaneously and solve problems. Collaboration ethic in everything that is done. Desired Characteristics Master’s degree in Quality discipline. Technical product qualification by external parties such as Dimensional, Painting, Welding or NDT, Fabrication.
