Senior Software Engineer

Overview We are seeking a full-time, remote Senior Software Engineer with 5+ years of full-stack software development experience and a background in React.js and React Native, as well as C#, C++, or .NET, to join our U.S. client's engineering team. In this role, you will utilize excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as patience and a customer-friendly attitude, while working in a team environment. The right candidate is someone who: Enjoys diving into and modernizing a 30-year-old product Drives high-quality industry and team standards Loves learning new processes, terminology, concepts, and code Displays a deep curiosity about how banking institutions function Our client is a U.S. fintech software company that provides innovative banking solutions to enhance operations and improve members' financial lives. Responsibilities Modernize and transform the client\'s existing software and write new features for the client\'s customers Document the client\'s processes, products, and APIs Assist with software releases and ensure we remain on schedule Participate in story pointing and estimation activities Review code and provide feedback, as well as participate in pair programming Be an Agile Scrum advocate Write and maintain automated tests using tools such as Jest, Jasmine, Cypress, Telerik Test Studio, and Grafana k6 Required Experience 5+ years of software engineering experience Experience with a primary back-end language, such as C#, C++, or .NET Experience working with databases, such as Progress OpenEdge, MySQL, Cassandra, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL Background with Agile Scrum Strong communication skills and the ability to work well cross-functionally A strong product sense, a high degree of empathy for internal and external users, and a desire to seek feedback from the same users about your work Comfortable working with ambiguity and excited about collaboration to define complex problems, determine solutions, and execute on them The ability to strike a balance between speed and quality of features to create durable technology. You thrive on building scalable systems that are robust, resilient to failure, and easy to maintain.
