Position Summary
- Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving engineering problems during the development and application of new and improved products and processes.
- Establishes best practices that incorporate Reliability, Health, Safety, and Environment concepts to guide others in analysis and design.
- Evaluates proposed theoretical results to meet design requirements.
- Serves as a technical expert to other employees to solve complex system equations and develops custom equations to simplify complex problems by using advanced engineering tools.
- Serves as a technical expert by coaching, developing, and reviewing work from other employees.
- Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross- disciplinary teams.
- Significantly contributes to Halliburton’s Intellectual Property portfolio by delivering innovative and commercially successful solutions.
- Work across multiple teams located in different countries (Brazil, US, Singapore, India).
- Work close to the Mechanical Engineering team, Systems Engineer, and the Project Manager at the Halliburton Technology Center in Brazil (HBTC).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
- Completion of a master’s or doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline is preferred.
- 5 years of experience in R&D is preferred.
- Experience in design of complex systems solutions including several engineering disciplines for Oil & Gas, mining and/or aerospace industry.
- Experience in designing solutions for subsea applications and well control involving multiple disciplines.
- Experience in designing solutions for well intervention applications involving multiple disciplines.
- Ability to provide guidance and mentoring to more junior engineers as needed.
- Experience defining requirements and reviewing proposals from third party (manufacturers, vendors, and suppliers).
- Knowledge and experience in Risk Assessment, FMEA, other reliability tools.
- Advanced knowledge of SolidWorks and Ansys (CAD and FEA).
- Advanced knowledge to apply principles of mechanics (static and dynamic), hydraulics, and materials.
- Experience in mechanical design, fluid mechanics, structural analysis, and/or material science.
- Knowledge and working experience in oil field equipment.
- Knowledge in designing system automation using robotics is desirable.
