PROCESSING ASSISTANT III - CHILD PERMANENCY Summary The Processing Assistant III position works with social workers, parents, foster parents or care providers by facilitating, transporting, and supervising visits between children in agency custody and their parents as outlined by court orders and Family Services Agreements. Provides clerical support to the Child Welfare staff through data entry. Work is performed under the supervision of the Child Permanency Program Manager. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Schedule, transport, and attend medical, mental health and dental appointments. Facilitate, transport and supervise visitation with children and families. Testifying in court may be required. Prepare documentation after direct support services. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as departmental policies. Clerical/Administrative Assist in Foster Board payments. Analyze state reports to conduct data audits. Provide data entry into state systems. Filing and scanning into data management systems. Education & Experience High School Diploma or equivalent and at least one year of experience in clerical/administrative/office management, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities General skills needed include computer skills, ability to use a variety of office equipment, ability to express ideas clearly and concisely (verbal/written), correct spelling, punctuation, specialized vocabulary, proofread, office accounting and record keeping procedures, mathematics, guidelines application, courtesy and tact, record and compile information, balance and reconcile figures, and develop and maintain effective working relationships with partners and the general public. Work Environment / Physical Requirements Frequent exertion of up to 10 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force. Occasional standing, walking, sitting, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, tasting or smelling, pushing or pulling and repetitive motions. Standard vision requirements. Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels. Work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, using measuring devices, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities. Licenses & Certifications Valid driver's license and insurable driving record. Additional Information Individuals hired must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily.
