What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Oversee and successfully deliver medium to complex engineering projects, managing external consultants throughout the project lifecycle
  • Develop, administer, and manage on-call design services contracts to support the delivery of various projects
  • Coordinate all phases of select internally managed projects from planning and design through construction and project closeout
  • Lead project teams in developing specifications and bid documents, as well as procurement initiatives
  • Establish and maintain communication with project stakeholders, sponsors, and management, providing routine reports and project KPIs
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, project management, or a directly related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible professional capital construction project management experience
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License or qualifications to obtain one prior to appointment
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification may be required based on assignment
  • Knowledge of public procurement processes and Public Works requirements
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Experience working on medium to large-scale complex capital and O&M construction projects
  • Public sector or utility experience preferred
  • Contract management experience preferred
  • Familiarity with project management tools/software such as MS Office Suite and scheduling software
  • Ability to prepare and present effective oral communications for professional and general public use
