Astro Sirens is an IT staffing agency based in Austin, Texas. We connect talented professionals from around the world with U.S. companies, offering exciting opportunities to work on innovative projects for top clients. We are currently seeking a Senior Data Scientist / Analyst to help our clients transform data into actionable insights that drive strategic decision‑making and business growth. This is a remote position, and we strongly encourage and give preference to candidates based in Latin America (LATAM) who are eager to collaborate with U.S.-based teams. Responsibilities Analyze large and complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, and insights that inform business strategy. Develop, implement, and maintain statistical models and machine learning algorithms for predictive and prescriptive analytics. Design and automate data analysis workflows and dashboards to support data‑driven decision‑making. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including engineering, product, and business stakeholders—to define analytical requirements and deliver impactful insights. Ensure data accuracy, quality, and consistency across analytical workflows and reporting environments. Translate complex analytical results into clear, compelling presentations and recommendations for non‑technical audiences. Contribute to continuous improvement of data science methodologies, tools, and best practices. Mentor junior data scientists and analysts, fostering a culture of learning and innovation. Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related quantitative role. Expertise in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL). Strong proficiency in Python or R for statistical analysis, data wrangling, and machine learning. Hands‑on experience with data visualization and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker). Knowledge of statistical modeling, hypothesis testing, and experimental design (A / B testing). Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and modern data environments. Understanding of data governance, data ethics, and privacy regulations. Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical insights to business stakeholders.
