What You Will Do:
- Provide support in responding to LA region Trade Compliance Specialist assisting in regional demand;
- Assist, together with the region specialist with conducting import/export compliance Trade Assessments within the LA region;
- Assist in designing and implementing a more efficient LA region ERP HTS classification workflow for part;
- After a related training, process chemical and equipment harmonized tariff codes;
- Supporting R&D requests for shipping samples outside of the standard ERP system to ensure compliance with export regulations;
- Provide import descriptions for Latin American countries;
- Support the product setup team with chemical composition review and tax classification assignment.
Basic Qualifications:
- Graduate student of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related applied sciences;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Highly organized with quantitative and analytical attention to detail;
- Collaborative and able to develop relationships across multiple divisions;
- Be willing to develop time/self-management ability - managing tasks, deadlines, and changing priorities in a team environment
- Must possess a high level of autonomy and be able to succeed with very little supervision;
Preferred Qualifications and Knowledge:
- Knowledge of import/export compliance and tariff classifications for chemicals and equipment will be good;
- Be interested in developing international logistics;
- SAP enterprise software knowledge is a plus;
- Experience with automation or process improvement projects.
- Familiarity with Chemical Product Composition and oil & gas exploration equipment;
- MS Office Suite; Outlook, Access, Excel, Word, Project Management;
- Intermediary English;
- Advanced Spanish.
