Mid Career Mechanical and Hydraulic Systems Engineer

Overview Boeing Brazil is seeking a Mid Career Mechanical and Hydraulic Systems Engineer, reporting to the Mechanical and Hydraulic Systems Engineering Manager, working out of the São José Dos Campos office. The role supports Boeing Commercial Aircraft teams providing mechanical and hydraulic systems development, including landing gear actuation, steering, and braking systems for commercial aircraft programs across development and in-service aircraft. The position sits within Airplane Systems engineering teams and interfaces with suppliers or internal Boeing organizations to oversee development of mechanical and hydraulic systems. This includes working across the lifecycle from initial concept studies through certification, production, and ongoing service support. The role may focus on systems level work or work across components such as hydraulic components, actuators, landing gear, wheels, tires, and brakes. Responsibilities Work closely with Boeing Commercial Airplane (BCA) to develop and implement engineering solutions for Mechanical and Hydraulic Systems, supporting development programs and in-service aircraft. Develop system requirements and define system architecture. Develop or review hardware and software designs and associated interface specifications. Analyze system performance through modeling and simulation. Own component-level design requirements. Support the development, maintenance or modification of system, component and installation designs/proposals to provide design documentation to downstream groups. Perform and document analyses to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Perform detail design development and modification of mechanical and hydraulic systems installations. Coordinate with other functions such as Systems, Electrical, Structures, Safety and other interface areas to shape systems architecture and interfaces between groups. Work with a worldwide supplier base to develop and implement system hardware, electronics, and software. Contribute to supplier development, design reviews, test and production activities and direct the supplier to optimize integration. Develop or review fleet Service Bulletins, Component Maintenance Manuals and Aircraft Maintenance Manuals. Support troubleshooting, testing, modeling and maintenance issues in the assembly line and with customers. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience) Must have existing rights to work in Brazil. Must have a degree in Engineering. Must be registered or eligible to register with the Engineering and Agronomy Regional Council (CREA). Proficient in both verbal and written communications in English. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience) Experience with aeronautical systems development following ARP4754. Experience with Safety Assessment following ARP4761. Experience with supplier environmental qualification standards (DO-160). Experience with sub-systems/equipment supplier management and oversight. Experience developing Mechanical and Hydraulics Systems for aeronautical applications (e.g., landing gear actuation, landing gear steering, wheel, tire and brake systems, hydraulic systems). Experience with Modeling and Simulation tools. Relocation This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
