Purpose and Objectives We are looking for a Mid‑level Developer eager to learn and contribute to the world of Big Data. The Big Data Fabric Services (BDFS) enables SAP Lines of Business and customers to easily enter the world of Big Data and integrate SAP data with external partner data engineering tools and non‑SAP data. The Product BDFS delivers Apache Spark as a service, a multi‑language engine for executing data engineering, data science, and machine learning on single‑node and cluster environments (Kubernetes). It enables data consumption from multiple hyperscaler-agnostic data sources using the Delta Sharing communication protocol on top of the HANA Data Lake File Service (HDLFS). Recent releases include SAP Databricks, a managed solution that combines AI/ML capabilities with semantically rich SAP data. What You’ll Do Design, code, test, and assure quality for specific product features. Develop primarily in Java. Work within an Empowered Product Team (EPT) aligned with the Harmonized Product Operating Model (HPOM). Mentor and guide junior developers to foster professional growth. Support Dev Managers, Architects, and Product Management on technical discussions. Help build PoCs and research potential technical solutions. What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Analysis, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering. Advanced or fluent English skills. Excellent programming skills and strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and runtime complexity (Big‑O notation). Experience with cloud development. Willingness to own new developments, drive creative and challenging tasks, and maintain high technical standards. Ability to troubleshoot complex software issues and leverage technical and product expertise. Familiarity with design patterns, Clean Code, CI/CD, code review, and TDD. Knowledge of software quality assurance and test methodologies, including unit, integration, and load testing. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; quick learner of new technologies. Nice to Have Experience with Java development. Experience with CI/CD. Learning Opportunities Gain exposure to cloud deployment technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Learn how continuous integration works in a global development environment. Develop distributed applications that run in cluster mode. Responsibilities Extend and complete the SAP Data Platform with big data technologies and third‑party partnerships to support different SAP Lines of Business and customers. Leverage Apache Spark and object store technology to provide scalable and cost‑effective computing and storage services for big data ingestion, processing, and sharing. Integrate into SAP BTP and HANA Cloud for a unified development and deployment experience. Ensure multi‑tenancy and secure data processing. #J-18808-Ljbffr
