Market Trends Lead

The Market Trends Lead will be in charge of researching, monitoring, and creating reports about the most recent trends and events happening in the crypto space. The main objective of this person is to offer a comprehensive and numeric understanding of trends and events so that different areas of the business activate fast and innovative actions. This person will have a close relationship with the VPs of Marketing and Growth so that insights are implemented and we keep culturally relevant. This person will also be responsible for creating and presenting to the whole company the reports so that every area of Bitso is aware of the most recent events. We're looking for someone who is deeply passionate about crypto, keen on developing continuous research, understands what's happening in the industry, and is able to connect the dots between raw information and Bitso's business.
**Your impact**:
- Maintain Bitso informed of the latest developments in the crypto industry and communicate their relevance to the underlying opportunities for Growth, Marketing, and Product:
- Keep track of key market trends that are shaping the crypto ecosystem and the adoption of crypto into people's day-to-day lives (cryptos, tokens, stablecoins, DeFi, Gaming, NFTs, Metaverse, etc.)
- Identify serious key players and projects that offer access to innovative business models based on cryptocurrencies.
- Translate trends and market information into data that can be leveraged by Bitso.
- Anticipate trends that lead to high crypto adoption in Latin America.
- Developing comprehensive reports and pitches of potential new initiatives to our leadership and product teams. This pitch must include the following information:
- Explanation of what the trend or event is.
- Numeric analysis on why this trend or event is relevant.
- Proposal of how could Bitso implement an activity around that trend/event.
- Solid business proposition and benefits for Bitso.
- Work closely with customer support to identify what are the most important trends our users are looking at and how could we offer them a solution.
- Create weekly and monthly reports of the most relevant events in crypto. throughout the end-to-end process behind the listing of a new asset.
- Work alongside the Crypto Education team to contribute to internal and external educational efforts around our new trends.
- Always keep investigating and creating new analysis around:
- DeFi integrations (lending, liquidity mining, yield farming, DEX swaps, Web 3 wallets)
- Staking (Proof-of-Stake protocols and delegation)
- Scalability solutions (side-chains, Layer 2, rollups, plasma, inter-chain bridges, etc.)
- Governance voting
- NFT marketplaces
- Forks and airdrops
- Crypto payment solutions
- Crypto derivatives
- Tokenized securities
**Who you are**:
- Absolute passion for crypto and commitment to Bitso's leadership position in the space.
- Experience in market research, creative insights, or similar roles.
- Between 4 to 6 years of working experience.
- Experience in the crypto industry (exchanges, consulting, hedge funds, DAOs) is a must.
- Great research capabilities to always stay on top of what's happening in the crypto world.
- Capable to create the correct structure to identify the most relevant elements of each crypto use case and potential benefits it can bring to Bitso.
- Capacity to prioritize between cool crypto elements and impactful things to Bitso's business.
- Strong communication and analytical skills, as well as critical thinking and problem-solving.
- Plan, manage, coordinate and execute projects with quality and precision.
- Experience using data analytics tools within operational and decision-making processes.
- Experience as equity research, consulting, private equity, or similar industry is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- English language proficiency.
