Job Overview As a Data Scientist Specialist, you will build and deploy machine‑learning models that drive key business units across the payments ecosystem. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, product, finance, fraud, and marketing teams to define problems and translate data insights into actionable solutions. Key Responsibilities Build and maintain machine‑learning models for the payments sector (real‑time transaction models, anomaly detection, route optimization, churn forecasting). Work with developers and business stakeholders to define problems and create data‑driven solutions. Lead new projects: secure stakeholder buy‑in, quantify business value, and forge strong cross‑functional relationships. Explain complex problems and solutions clearly. Partner with the data‑engineering team to create data pipelines and transformations needed for model consumption. Conduct exploratory ad‑hoc analysis and experimentation. Promote data as the primary decision‑making driver. Required Qualifications Proficient in coding with Python, PySpark, and SQL. Experience with cloud services and storage (preferably AWS). Hands‑on experience designing and building supervised ML models using Random Forest, Boosting, SVM, or deep learning (XGBoost, Scikit‑learn, TensorFlow). Understand trade‑offs between batch and streaming implementations. Experience with transactional databases and analytical tools such as Redshift, BigQuery, and Athena. Familiar with development tools: Git, Bash, and containers. Preferred Qualifications Experience designing solutions with AWS services (Lambda, Kinesis, S3, Dynamo, OpenSearch, EMR, SageMaker, ElastiCache). Knowledge of visualization tools (Tableau, Qlik, Looker). Background in a startup environment. Benefits Annual performance‑based bonuses. Meal reimbursement via Flash card.
