Position Summary:
The Finance Leader has overall control and responsibility for all finance functions: accounting, tax, financial planning, finance and manufacturing cost activities to ensure financial statements are accurate and complete in accordance with US GAAP, country requirements and corporate policies. Lead an efficient finance organization that actively supports the business for growth while maintaining a robust control environment.
**Job Description**:
- Manage the monthly closing process and general administration to provide local and USGAAP financial statements.
- Responsible for statutory and USGAAP financial reporting, provide financial data to business and corporate functions to help support decisions and meet compliance requirements.
- Ensure compliance of accounting practices, procedures and controls with internal control requirements and local statutory policies.
- Support the budgeting process and work closely with function managers to ensure that income and expenditures remain within targets.
- Ensure compliance with internal control policies and processes related to financial reporting.
- Manage the partner law firm, as well as review, together with this, the contracts.
- Coordinate with external and internal auditors for release/certification of local financial statements and financial reporting processes.
- Manage the monthly balance sheet account reconciliation process.
- Partner with the Regional Leader, leveraging the strength of Momentive's Latin America strategy across all functions to deliver continued growth.
- Responsible for creating value under areas from financial planning to manufacturing costs.
- Support the Operations Manager in the process of executing Capital Projects and developing/refining capital expenditures.
- Creatively identify opportunities to do “more with less” on general and administrative expenses without impacting services or quality.
- Oversee cash management and relationships with financial institutions.
- Recommend appropriate dividend issues based on historical dividend patterns and expected cash flows.
- Engages in ongoing cost reduction reviews across all areas of the company.
- In-depth knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment as it relates to federal, state and local income taxes, withholding taxes, transaction taxes and related taxes.
- Actively develop, train, and lead the team.
- Comply with all EHS and Quality regulatory and internal requirements.
Additional Details:
- Academic education;
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related areas;
- Minimum experience + 10 years;
- Functional skills;
- Active CRC preferred;
- Masters degree preferred;
- More than 7 years of experience in accounting, financial and tax planning and analysis;
- US GAAP knowledge;
- Proven experience in management and leadership in building organizational capacity and driving changes;
- Strong project management skills and ability to make actionable recommendations and assess priorities for team members;
- Experience in Treasury, including banking legislation and Central Bank of Brazil;
- General knowledge of cost accounting and manufacturing process;
- Deep knowledge of taxation, including direct and indirect taxes, income tax, transfer pricing and tax benefits;
- Advanced/Fluent English.
