Insurance Analyst

Specific responsibilities of the role:

  1. Be responsible to partner with Regional Insurance Manager (RIM ), Projects, Business Units, placing & local Brokers, Carriers and partners to resolve problems, capitalise on opportunities and report on activities – actively advise, assist, support and manage the Brazilian Group’s and project-related insurance matters, maintain policies, assist and settle insurance claims/losses, handle invoices… in accordance with our Group’s insurance programs and policies, part of the Group’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) governance.
  2. Contribute in establishing a Group Insurance Centre of Excellence at local & group level for insurance matters to meet the team’s strategic objectives and maintain common standards for risk and insurance issues.
  3. Develop and contribute to maintain good relationships at local and global level with insurance and risk management practice leaders, brokers/insurers and Experts/Loss Adjusters and stay up to date on insurance market trends and products.
  4. Liaise and support the Region Insurance Manager (RIM) in global insurance & risk management matters in the communication, coordination, monitoring and implementation of various processes and initiatives and manage/control the policies in LAM.
  5. Perform other specific tasks related to an assigned program and/or Projects.
  6. Run the local monitoring (Brokers & Insurers, Alstom BU and partners).
  7. Provide support on large and/or complex insurance claims.
  8. Together with the local RIM s: lead the Brazilian value collection process to feed the renewal process with figures & other statistical data as may be required that accurately reflects the reality of the Group’s exposure to risk, including the compilation, analysis and thorough review of underwriting data received from internal stakeholders.
  9. Respond to day-to-day queries from the Insurance Community members, Groups/Divisions and external service providers.
  10. Comply with compliance standards and follow through on audit improvements.
  11. Support management in the coordination and monitoring of various projects and management reports.
  12. Participate and contribute in the various communication forums within the department, group/entities and corporate initiatives.
  13. When required, provide back-up support in the review of contract “indemnity” and “insurance” clauses for businesses, projects & procurement in the light of ALSTOM’s programs & Risk Management.

Qualifications & Experience:

  1. Competencies: Insurance knowledge.
  2. Previous experience: Yes, in the insurance market.
  3. Language skills: English / Spanish will be a plus.
  4. Travel required: maybe.
