The Role Hotel General Manager About Us Omunix International is a recruitment agency with a strong presence in the U.S., Europe, and South America. We specialize in connecting top local and remote talent with ambitious, fast-growing companies across a variety of industries. For this exclusive search, we are partnering with a luxury hospitality project that will redefine the guest experience in Suriname’s capital city, Paramaribo. About the Project This iconic luxury hotel will become a landmark destination in Suriname’s rapidly growing international business and hospitality sector. Key features include: 60 elegantly designed rooms 2 high-end restaurants Positioned to serve executives, energy industry leaders, and global travelers as Suriname’s oil & gas sector gains global momentum Responsibilities Lead all operational departments: Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Engineering, etc. Manage the pre-opening phase, including: Development of SOPs Vendor and contractor coordination Recruitment, onboarding, and training of staff Execute the strategic vision in collaboration with ownership Maintain exceptional service standards and ensure guest satisfaction Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing local team Ensure compliance with local laws and international luxury hospitality standards Develop and maintain strong relationships with VIP and corporate clients Oversee budgets, P&L, forecasting, and cost control initiatives Qualifications & Experience Minimum 10 years of senior hotel operations leadership (GM, Director of Ops, or similar) Experience in luxury or 5-star hotels is essential Hotel pre-opening experience is highly preferred Proven leadership and team-building skills Strong knowledge of F&B operations, guest experience, and operational KPIs Familiarity with executive and business traveler needs Fluent in English; Dutch and/or Spanish is a plus Open to international relocation (expat package available) What We Offer The chance to lead a flagship luxury project in a booming hospitality market Relocation support Housing Professional growth in a multicultural, entrepreneurial environment A unique opportunity to live and lead in Paramaribo How to Apply If you’re ready to pioneer luxury hospitality in one of the world’s most promising destinations, please submit your CV and a short motivation letter Job Details Seniority level: Director Employment type: Full-time Job function: Other Industries: Hospitality We’re unlocking community knowledge in a new way.
