**Responsibilities**:
- Opportunity snapshot: An exciting, permanent opportunity available for a Business Lead (Technology Finance) has risen in our Melbourne location. As part of the Health Insurance Technology HCM and Finance Team, this role will partner closely with our Health Care Management business representatives to lead high quality technology services at pace to drive strategic outcomes for our Bupa APAC customers. The role will liaise closely with areas of the HI technology teams, including Operations, Contract Management, Commercial Management, Technical teams, and Risk & Governance. Key elements of this role include senior stakeholder engagement and management, continuous improvement, innovation, people management and capacity planning.
- How will I help?
- Partner closely with business key stakeholders to develop an understanding of the Bupa APAC business, challenges, pain points, opportunity, and strategic direction
- Engage with senior business stakeholders on Finance initiatives across APAC and providing impact assessments, guidance, and process advice
- Lead team of Business Analysts across Finance technology domains
- Manage annual financial plan for Capex and Opex for HCM strategy and tactical initiatives
- Assist Technology Manager with Finance technology risks, issues and vulnerabilities within Finance Domain
- As part of the Technology HCM and Finance leadership team, work with the Head of Technology, Domain Architect and Delivery Lead to create Finance strategic roadmap
- Manage Finance Business Analyst resource utilisation to ensure maximum recovery and utilisation of cross charge resources
- Plan and manage Business Analysis resource capability and capacity requirements in line with strategic roadmap, delivery priorities and BAU initiatives
- Lead regular (monthly) SLA reviews with technical teams as business advocate to reduce impact of incident and problems
- In conjunction with problem management and technology managers, investigate root cause analysis of major incidents and implement corrective actions
- Coach support teams and individuals to effectively utilise their specialised skills (i.e., business analysts to communicate ideas to improve customer and employee experiences and business process)
- Fulfil or support the lead BA capability on large complex and high impact business and technical projects
- Lead discovery effort for new initiatives through the Delivery Hub and PMO model, as relevant
- Produce requirements documentation and other business analytics activities where required
- Plan, run and facilitate workshops as required to assist with production of detailed requirements documentation, participation in other business analytics activities and technology business process optimisation, where required
- Work closely with the team to refine the backlog and ensure the team have a shared understanding of the content
- Participate in and contribute to the BA and Agile Communities of Practice within Bupa.
- Proactively support the uplift of Agile practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement
- Other responsibilities as directed by Head of Technology
What do I need?
- Experience in leading and managing senior stakeholder engagement
- Experience in working with key business stakeholders to build technology roadmap in support of business strategy.
- 2 years demonstrated experience in working with Agile methodologies (backlog development and refinement - writing epics, functions, stories and defining acceptance criteria using Jira or Azure DevOps)
- Extensive experience in detailed requirements gathering and working with business leads to produce detailed business cases
- Experience in Finance, Health Care or Health Insurance preferred
- 5 years+ experience as a Senior Business Analyst
- Delivery experience working within cross-functional teams using Agile and Waterfall methodologies
- Experience in setting up, running, and managing workshops for requirement discussion and elicitation with groups
- Experience with Agile ceremonies and rituals: Backlog Refinement, Daily Stand-up, Iteration / Release Planning, Showcases / Sprint Review, Retrospective
- Ability to create process maps for current and future state
- High degree of credibility with natural ability to communicate and build trust to forge strong relationships with stakeholders
- Excellent written & oral communication skills with demonstrable ability in a variety of techniques to express technical information to non-technical readers / listeners
- Skill in defining epics, features, stories (which meet the ‘INVEST’ criteria), and clear acceptance criteria
- Collaborative and consultative team player
- Ability to think ‘outside the box’ to overcome issues and find solutions where conflicts and difficulties arise
- Knowledge and experience working with Azure DevOps
- Certification in one or more Agile methods (desirable)
- Tertiary qualification in an IT discipline or related field (desirable)
