Offer DescriptionThe Cell Biology of Bacterial Growth and Division Lab and the Protein Structure and Function Lab at the University of São Paulo (USP) in Brazil are seeking a post-doctoral researcher to join an innovative project focused on applying structural biology to novel targets in antibiotic discovery.
This position is part of a collaborative effort to identify and characterize promising molecular targets in pathogenic bacteria – a project with strong potential to drive the development of next-generation antimicrobials.
The selected candidate will work under the supervision of Frederico Gueiros-Filho within the Biology of Bacteria and Bacteriophages Research Center (CEPID B3) – a Research, Innovation and Dissemination Center (CEPID in the Portuguese-language acronym) supported by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP)– and will receive a FAPESP Post-Doctoral Fellowship (BRL 12,000/month + research funds equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship to be spent on items directly related to the research activity).
Requirements:
- PhD in structural biology, biochemistry, biophysics, or related fields;
- Hands-on experience in protein expression, purification, and structure determination;
- Desirable: familiarity with antibiotic targets, membrane proteins, or enzymology.
Open to both Brazilian and international applicants.
