Technical Manager I/II – Maintenance and Operations Unit of the Estates Office The University of Hong Kong is seeking a Technical Manager I/II to join the Estates Office, working across a diverse range of projects including academic, teaching and learning, research, residential, hospital, high‑end technology and sustainability initiatives. The Role The appointee will oversee campus facilities management, handling routine building maintenance, renovations, large‑scale development projects and overall operations. They will manage projects from inception to post‑completion, exercising budget, schedule and quality controls, conducting design feasibility studies, and coordinating with consultants, government authorities, internal user groups and in‑house teams to ensure effective facilities management and project execution across the campus. Qualifications and Qualities A university degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Real Estate, Facilities Management, Property Management or related disciplines, or equivalent; At least 8 years of supervisory‑level experience in project planning, management and site supervision; Track record in corporate sustainability strategy development, stakeholder engagement, project management and change management is advantageous; Strong communication skills and working knowledge of computer software; A valid Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card) issued in accordance with Chapter 59 of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance or an equivalent certificate. What We Offer The appointment is a fixed‑term full‑time contract for 2 years, commencing as soon as possible, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract‑end gratuity and a University contribution of 10 % of basic salary to a retirement benefits scheme.
