The LATAM Accounting organization supports financial reporting, controllership, internal controls, and new business launches in the region. We are seeking a manager-level candidate to support business growth in Amazon’s Sao Paulo, Brazil office. Ideal candidates may have experience in manager accounting, controllership, or finance roles in public or private companies, with demonstrated leadership in complex challenges. Key job responsibilities Manage the period-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely revenue and AR accounting entries and reconciliations. Manage project timelines and requirements for new launches. Perform analytical reviews of balances and support cash flow reporting with balance sheet account movements. Lead projects, provide accounting guidance, and serve as the first contact for finance and business partners to resolve issues. Collaborate across organizations with teams such as Legal, Tax, and Business. Drive controllership initiatives and solutions. Basic Qualifications Experience in tax, finance, or related analytical fields. Experience in multiple finance and accounting roles. Knowledge of key financial performance indicators (KPIs) and their application. Ability to build financial and operational reports for decision-making. Experience with process improvements, automation, and analysis. Participation in continuous improvement projects with measurable results. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of SQL/ETL. Experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP). Experience with forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and data interpretation. Skills in identifying data issues and creating escalation plans.
