About The Role Being a Model Auditor at Nubank is different from being a traditional auditor. In a digital bank driven by data, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, our audit function also embraces technology to assess risks predictively and continuously. This position is fundamental to Nubank’s success. You will be part of the Internal Audit team, focusing on Financial Risks (Credit, Market, Liquidity, and Capital). Your primary goal will be to provide assurance on Nubank’s financial models. Responsibilities Evaluate and critique risk models (including statistical and machine learning models), from their conception, development, and validation to their ongoing monitoring. Apply your knowledge of mathematics and statistics to analyze the robustness, performance, and adherence of these models. Execute audit tests using data analysis; explore large volumes of data to identify risks, biases, or control failures. Lead technical discussions with stakeholders (such as Data Scientists, Engineers, and the Risk team) and communicate audit findings clearly, objectively, and constructively (both verbally and in writing). Prepare audit reports and follow up on the implementation of action plans to remediate identified vulnerabilities. Qualifications Strong knowledge in mathematics and statistics, and experience applying these concepts to analyze or build models (whether in data science, credit, finance, or related fields). Practical experience with data analysis. While you don’t need to master a specific language (like Python or SQL), you must have experience in extracting, manipulating, and analyzing data to generate insights. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. You know how to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms to various audiences. Analytical and problem‑solving profile, with strong critical thinking skills to break down complex problems and propose solutions. Organized and detail‑oriented, without losing sight of the big picture. Previous experience or knowledge in Internal Audit, Internal Controls, or Risk Management (especially Credit Risk or Market Risk) is a plus. Knowledge of the financial market, credit products, or fintechs is a plus.
