J.P. Morgan is seeking a Senior Associate for LATAM Payments to work in the Transformation Design & Delivery (TDD) department in São Paulo, Brazil.

The successful candidate will be involved in initiatives focused on accelerating payments business growth through Treasury Services innovation and capacity increase.

There will be significant exposure and visibility to senior management. This role is ideal for highly motivated individuals with advanced problem-solving, strong technical analysis, and communication skills.

Job Responsibilities

The role will require working with stakeholders across Corporate and Investment Banking, looking to leverage best practices across the industry and other J.P. Morgan business units. Lateral contacts in business, technology, operations, product, and client-facing organizations firm-wide would need to be developed and mined for best practices and for driving outcomes.

  • Represent LATAM Operations requirements into several project squads in payment products, focused on Real-Time Payments, Liquidity and Account Services, and Automation.
  • Coordinate and formalize operational requirements derived from projects and new products in partnership with Products, Operations, and Technology teams.
  • Liaise effectively between lines of business with empathy and understanding to achieve the common and strategic goal as a team, collaboratively contributing to program updates.
  • Coordinate testing planning: defining testing scope and UAT completion strategy to help the team achieve the goals.
  • Coordinate Implementation plan from Operations Perspective.
  • Maintain stakeholders updated in relation to the project’s status and next steps.
  • Prepare senior management presentations highlighting progress against milestones, risks, issues, and any barriers requiring escalation.
  • The position will be based in the São Paulo Office.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Deep understanding of payments and collections platforms and operational processing systems.
  • Extensive familiarity and experience to lead with people, understanding operational requirements, and being able to criticize and suggest solutions aiming to optimize the operational process aligned with business interests.
  • Ability to articulate complex concepts clearly to differing audiences in multiple regions; strong communication skills in English to negotiate internal priorities among the project’s stakeholders in Latin America.
  • Capability to create documents containing business and functional requirements, creating diagrams of current and future flows from Operations perspective.
  • Strong time management and organization skills.
  • Familiarity with Agile concepts and project management concepts.
  • Partner with Product, Operations, and Technology to identify barriers preventing efficient change deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Experience in Payments Business required (preferred knowledge in LATAM products as this role will provide coverage to the Latin America region).
  • Fluent in English; Spanish skills are also required.
  • Outstanding ability to communicate effectively and confidently (oral and written).
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Finance, Business, or related areas - required.
  • Project Methodology Qualification is required.
Agile Methodology Skills – Preferred
  • Knowledge in Operations for Payments products is desired.
