Production Technician – FPSO Alexandre de Gusmao SBM Offshore – the world’s deepwater ocean‑infrastructure expert – is looking for a Production Technician to operate plant process and utility systems safely and efficiently on the FPSO Alexandre de Gusmao. The role reports to a Production Supervisor and operates within GEMS and local regulatory frameworks. Reports To Production Supervisor Responsibilities & Standards Start‑up, operate, monitor, and shut down first‑stage process and utility systems. Monitor, maintain and optimise process parameters (level, flow, temperature, pressure, etc.) within operating requirements. Ensure sampling is carried out and sample results are acted upon. Troubleshoot to maximise product quality and delivery volume. Maintain discharge water quality within O&M contractor or local guidelines. Operate electrical/hydraulic control panels, safety & emergency shutdown devices, fire and gas systems. Provide accurate and timely production reporting. Witness third‑party calibrations when appropriate. Prove export oil meters. Work safely according to Management System policies, isolation standards, and Permit‑to‑Work procedures. Carry out operations in an environmentally sound manner and report discharges, leaks, spills, injuries, and incidents immediately. Consult with maintenance personnel on plant hazards and facilitate maintenance operations. Participate in emergency response drills and exercises and demonstrate competence. Qualifications & Experience Proven experience or qualification to N/SVQ Hydrocarbon Processing Level 2 or similar. Experience in hydrocarbon processing systems and utilities. Knowledge of ESD F & G and DCS operation. Good understanding of Permit to Work, Mechanical Isolation Standards and Risk Assessment. Medically fit according to SBM Offshore GEMS Instruction Health Requirements. Competencies Offshore handover and emergency response. Process and instrument drawings. Plant walk‑through and safety management. Stock monitoring and field operations. Permit‑to‑Work System application.
