Your Role and Responsibilities

Join our team as an Event Marketing Specialist, where we specialize in crafting top-tier virtual, in-person, and hybrid events. You’ll collaborate closely with our strategists to ensure flawless execution, compliance, and exceptional attendee experiences. Ideal candidates are passionate about B2B events, detail-oriented, and dedicated to creating impactful event experiences.

The event strategist is responsible for the complete execution and success of the IBM events. They create experiential client engagements and partner closely with agency partners to bring these plans to life. They are responsible for understanding the Global Event Process including event marketing tools. They collaborate closely with squad team members and sales teams to develop an optimized event plan.

  1. Responsible for event planning & execution - Lead annual global event planning and consistent design/delivery to build and generate pipeline.
  2. Own and optimize events to meet business objectives based on stakeholder feedback.
  3. Partner with key stakeholders including top account marketing & field marketing to define objectives, target audience, and develop plans including requirements for associated ABM/targeted audience actions.
  4. Design individual event attendee experience within the client journey based on standard event kits.
  5. Ensure sales alignment and events execution (with field marketing).
  6. Manage post-event outcomes and performance with relevant stakeholders.
  7. Handle end-to-end process and tools: Including EMB entry, logo licenses, data privacy, edit upload, and debrief for core team events.
  8. Ensure all legal, compliance, finance, and other required processes are efficiently completed.

  • Professional knowledge related to function and its process.
  • Communication / Negotiation: Advises other professionals, effectively utilizes group dynamics, and negotiates to define approaches and goals.
  • Problem Solving: Recognizes complex problems related to functional objectives and applies creativity and judgment to develop solutions.
  • Impact on Business: Accountable for results and for activities involving multi-functional teams, regularly participates in overall functional program planning.
  • Contribution / Leadership: Provides ongoing guidance to lead professional work teams and utilizes expertise to influence people outside the function.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Fluent in English.
  • Experience with event and/or marketing platforms including Rainfocus, CVENT, Airtable, Marketo, etc. preferred.
