About this Role We are seeking a highly skilled back-end developer to join our team. As a Principal Backend Engineer/Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining secure, scalable backend services using C#/.NET and integrating with APIs like Plaid, Dwolla, and Treasury Prime. This is a 100% remote, full-time role. You will work closely with front-end, QA, product, and IT teams, while mentoring junior engineers. Key Responsibilities: Develop and Maintain Applications : Build, enhance, and maintain secure, scalable backend services. Shape System Architecture : Contribute to system design, ensuring performance, scalability, and security across applications. Write Quality Code : Implement and test maintainable, well-documented code, with a focus on automation and software best practices. Support Production Systems : Monitor and troubleshoot production applications to ensure high availability and quick issue resolution. Requirements: Solid Technical Expertise : Strong foundation in design patterns, software development best practices, and principles like SOLID and Clean Code. Programming Skills : Proficiency in C#/.NET, ASP.NET MVC/WebAPI, and Object-Relational Mappers (ORMs). Databases and Architecture : Strong understanding of MSSQL database design and optimization, and familiarity with asynchronous microservices architecture and distributed systems. Testing and CI/CD : Hands-on experience with unit testing, mocking, integration testing, and ensuring code coverage, and proficiency in version control systems, especially Git. Experience and Education : 6+ years of back-end software development experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. Collaboration and Communication : Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work effectively with team members and stakeholders.
