Data migration is a critical process in transitioning data from legacy systems to new platforms. As a Data Migration Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, security, and accessibility of data throughout the migration process. Main responsibilities include designing and implementing data migration processes, developing scripts and ETL processes, and utilizing SQL, data mapping, and transformation techniques to optimize efficiency. You will also be responsible for ensuring data integrity and validation during the migration process, performing regular audits and validation checks, and overseeing user acceptance testing (UAT). Project and risk management are key aspects of this role, including planning and managing data migration projects, identifying and mitigating risks, and developing proactive strategies to address potential challenges. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data migration and management, with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience and proficiency in SQL and data migration tools like Talend, Informatica. Data migration involves analyzing, organizing, and optimizing large datasets for efficient processing and storage. This requires a deep understanding of data structures, database systems, and software applications used in data migration. A successful Data Migration Specialist should possess excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate complex technical information effectively. Beyond technical expertise, this role demands adaptability, flexibility, and a customer-centric approach to ensure seamless project execution and stakeholder satisfaction.
