We are seeking a System Administrator I to join our Virtualization team, providing operational support and maintenance for enterprise virtualization platforms and compute hardware. The ideal candidate will have a builder mindset with a curiosity to learn and improve systems—eager to contribute to automation efforts, support platform enhancements, and develop foundational skills in virtualization technologies through hands-on experience. This role offers an opportunity to grow in enterprise virtualization and infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Support daily operations and monitoring of VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts and vCenter.
  • Assist in provisioning, cloning, and configuring virtual machines for internal teams.
  • Perform routine maintenance, patching, and performance checks on virtual infrastructure.
  • Provide basic support for other hypervisor platforms (KVM, Hyper-V) as needed.
  • Monitor health and performance of Cisco UCS blade server infrastructure, including fabric interconnects and service profiles.
  • Respond to incident tickets and participate in troubleshooting of VM and hardware issues.
  • Follow change management processes and assist in documenting procedures, configurations, and topology maps.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to implement upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvements.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours maintenance windows as required.
Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of experience in system administration, preferably with virtualization focus.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter) in a production or lab environment.
  • Familiarity with Cisco UCS blade infrastructure, including UCS Manager and service profiles.
  • Basic understanding of virtualization concepts (vMotion, resource pools, snapshots).
  • Exposure to other hypervisors (e.g., KVM, Hyper-V) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux OS administration.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and maintain accurate documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • VMware certification (e.g., VCTA, VCP) is a plus.
  • Exposure to DevOps principles and tooling (such as CI/CD pipelines, version control, or infrastructure as code) is a strong plus, with a willingness to grow in cross-functional environments
  • Experience with scripting (e.g., PowerCLI or Bash) is desirable.
  • Exposure to enterprise monitoring tools and ITSM/ticketing platforms.
