Overview: Join us as a Senior Technical Lead Engineer at AORO, which is a digital gold platform built to power the next generation of transactions on Web3 infrastructure and financial rails. We're looking for a driven, capable lead that is up for the challenge of refining existing architecture and systems, and creating upcoming architecture to support products in the roadmap. You must have the grit and determination, but also be a hands-on engineer. You need to love to code, but also to see the bigger picture and most importantly, have integrity. You will be working alongside the CEO, CTO, and rest of the engineering team.

Location: Location: Remote, however, candidate must be located in commutable distance to Sao Paulo.

Responsibilities:

• Development in Python, as we continuously architect and refine microservices.
• Create GraphQL APIs.
• Orchestration and synchronization of messaging systems.
• Payment integrations, Web3 integrations.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines to deliver holistic solutions.
• Engineering smart contracts and other blockchain technologies.
• Database architecture, design, and implementation.
• Craft, optimize, and manage APIs for seamless data exchange.
• Tackle system optimization, performance, privacy, and data encryption challenges.
• Champion iterative development and continuous enhancement.
• Stay at the forefront of trends in Cryptocurrencies, Web3, Blockchain technologies, Kafka, Event architecture, GraphQL, Apollo, Microservices, Systems, and API design.

Skills:

• Advanced proficiency in synchronous systems, GraphQL, Python, Kafka, and microservices architecture.
• Secure, performant database design and cryptography.
• Seamless integration with external messaging and payment platforms.
• Event-driven and synchronous systems experience.
• CI/CD pipeline implementation for automated deployment.
• API development for seamless data interaction.
• Automation, Git version control, and collaborative workflows.

Requirements:

• 10-15 years of Systems Engineering experience, specializing in Microservices, Systems Engineering, Database design, Event-driven architecture, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, CI/CD, Infrastructure, and API development.
• Demonstrated leadership in real-world, real-time high-throughput systems with hundreds of thousands of users, employing secure, performant backend design and implementation.
• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of Web3/crypto from personal or professional industry experience.

Contract to hire long term contract. REMOTE

Payrate: 70 - 90 per hour

• Must have leadership skills, as well as hands-on design and development skills.
• Must have strong AWS services skills, having previously implemented AWS-based solutions.
• Financial services experience is preferred.

Tech Lead in our Individual Product journey in the Retirement Strategies Business Unit, you will partner with product owners, designers, engineers and delivery professionals to help us launch new financial products with a modern architectural approach. You will collaborate with other technology leaders to brainstorm best design and integration approach for deliverables, build consensus, and implement proposals. You will also manage and guide other software engineers on your team, breaking broad deliverables into actionable building blocks and delivering within timelines. You will maintain alignment with firmwide technology strategy and modernization efforts, solving sophisticated business problems and delivering innovative products and experiences.

• Develop, maintain, and drive modernization of services and capabilities within your scope.
• Technical design and infrastructure/environments strategy, including deployments for your team's deliverables.

• Experience with agile methodologies and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• 3-7 years of hands-on Java, Spring Boot, React or Angular development; 3-5 years leading small to mid-sized teams.
• Experience designing and developing financial services applications.
• Experience with Java or Python applications in an AWS development stack.
• Experience with ECS, containers, GitHub, Kong/APIGEE, and understanding of authentication/authorization in Java services.
• Strong business acumen and ability to translate technical solutions for broad audiences.
• Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.
