About the job

The team is looking for a Sr Cloud Platform Administrator to design, analyze, acquire, install, monitor, optimize, operate, modify, configure, and support infrastructure, operating systems, databases, system management utilities, and Internet/intranet-related tools.

As a Cloud Platform Administrator, you will:

  1. Provide SAS software support for assigned products, including installation, maintenance, documentation, customization, and utilization of product features.
  2. Write and/or modify system software routines and programs.
  3. Prepare and conduct system and programming tests requiring interfacing of hardware and software.
  4. Diagnose and resolve user and operational problems with software and hardware.
  5. Be responsible for root cause analysis and suggesting solution options to the customers based on findings.
  6. Develop and review procedures to ensure the security and integrity of all systems and data.
  7. Modify, maintain, debug, optimize, and update software, such as compilers, link editors, assemblers, macros and subroutines, as well as software defined compute (hypervisors), storage and network.
  8. Develop tools and software to manage SAS and third-party software.
  9. Engineer, architect, install, and configure operating systems and complex system software.
  10. Architect system automation for consistent and reliable deployment of complex systems.

Required Qualifications

  1. Eight years of experience writing programs in more than one language required.
  2. Five years of experience in end user and system administrator consulting or providing other first-level consulting required.
  3. Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
  4. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related quantitative field.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Knowledge of programming languages, operating systems, utilities, services, and editors for assigned area.
  2. Career level of technical knowledge of the internal workings, diagnostic tools, and features of complex systems.
  3. Aptitude for visualization of solutions for problems.
  4. Ability to solve data processing problems.
  5. Ability to script or write software programs that acknowledge the peculiarities of the underlying machine architecture.
  6. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  7. Ability to work well with others and to problem-solve.
  8. Ability to independently learn how to use new facilities quickly from supplied documentation.
