Staff Software Engineer, Data Platform

Lead the design and evolution of our data platform from architecture to production with a focus on reliability, cost, and scale Drive decisions on data stack and platform standards across teams Build and optimize high-performance data services and pipelines (batch and streaming) for large-scale workloads Own production operations for file- and event-based systems: monitoring, incident response (on-call), and continuous improvement to meet SLAs Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and hands-on pairing, raise the bar for testing, security, and observability Collaborate with partner teams and customers to deliver data products end to end Reduce technical debt and simplify systems with clean interfaces and clear patterns This is a remote position. A remote position does not require job duties be performed within proximity of a Visa office location. Remote positions may be required to be present at a Visa office with scheduled notice. #LI-Remote Basic Requirements: Strong software engineering background building distributed systems at scale Proficiency in Golang or Python Familiarity with modern streaming processing (Kinesis, Flink, Spark) Cloud computing skills (preferable AWS) and hybrid designs Data platform tooling: Terraform (IaC), Docker and Kubernetes (prod) and Airflow (or similar orchestration) Observability and SRE mindset: Grafana, CloudWatch (logs, metrics, traces), on-call ownership, SLA thinking Versioning and CI/CD: Git GitHub, pipelines (e.g. Codefresh) or similar English: B2 level or above Be based in Brazil Visa is an EEO Employer.
