Job Description


We are looking for an HSE Site Coordinator to join our team in our plant in Brazil (Sete Lagoas/MG) . The chosen candidate, reporting to the Plant Manager, will be responsible for ensuring the local implementation of Group HSE programs, plans and related policies in order to ensure the compliance with relevant applicable standards such as ISO, cGMPs, PGR/PCMSO as well as legal local requirements working in an integrated way with the local leadership team to guarantee seamless and effective communication on HSE matter.


  • Implements the HSE strategic programs and plans at local level providing the leader above with relevant inputs, recommendations and suggestions aimed at delivering the HSE local system.
  • Actively and proactively performs assigned project tasks acting as enabler of synergies and efficiency across the processes involved providing support and counsel on local management on all HSE matters.
  • Implements the HSE management for the assigned site optimizing HSE operations, deploying policies/guidelines and defining specific local procedures if required, to keep systems and processes aligned with relevant applicable requirements.
  • Leads risk factors identification, assessment and evaluation, defines corrective and preventive actions for the safety and health of the workplaces in compliance with relevant applicable standards, regulatory and requirements of the site.
  • Conducts internal audits and manages third parties’ audits provided by public authority, oversees HSE authorization process delivering periodic report required by law or by corporate function.
  • Manages on-site medical surveillance planning dealing with external staff, analyses and evaluates problems and issues related to accidents, work environment and ergonomics such supervising HSE matter at local level.
  • Manages the compliance of the allowable limits for gaseous, liquid and solid emissions to be respected, working closely alongside production dept. to agree and define suitable process conditions to achieve those objectives for assigned site.
  • Drives the HSE team at site level in waste classification, in the research of new opportunities for recycling and waste disposal and implements therefore consistent procedures and guidelines working alongside Operations teams.
  • Organizes and conducts HSE training for on-site staff aimed at ensuring competency and awareness on HSE related topics as well as complying with specific local legal requirements, regulatory and standards.
  • Assesses regularly HSE risks and potential issues such as near miss etc., monitors related KPIs and performances promptly elaborating reports working closely alongside functions involved at site level to address improvement actions.
  • Monitors the implementation and constant update of HSE policies, procedures and work instructions by conducting regular inspections in the workplace aimed at reducing risk and gaps, for the assigned site.
  • Participates to the supplier management and qualification phases working closely with the relevant functions involved, providing recommendations and suggestions according with the applicable HSE standards and relevant requirements.
  • Plans, organizes, manages, coaches and develops assigned staff, ensuring the effective talent management, career path development and training, drive commitment and engagement in the assigned site where applicable.


Qualifications

  • +3 years experienced in Health and Safety.
  • Proficiency in English is required (conversation is mandatory).
  • Education: Specialization or Technical Degree in Occupational Safety - degree in environmental area is a differential.
  • Continuous Improvement management: techniques, methodologies, tools knowledge System, tools and application for the relevant processes
  • Knowledge of applicable legal requirements and specifications
  • Budget management and cost control knowledge
  • People Management (Coaching, feedback, team management etc.)
