Job SummaryDevelopment of assembly processes based on customer requirements, quality systems , financial investment and labor plans. Manage the implementation of new processes, selection of equipment to be purchased, and timing estimates. Resolve issues with quality plans, product design, manufacturability, or build process steps. Participate in adoption of new technologies and processes to achieve greater efficiency. Consults on and oversees selection and implementation of automation and robotics in assembly processes. Manages activities using the Process Development System according to the developed ME timeline.
Duties and Responsibilities- Develop detailed manufacturing plans for new programs, including planning for new equipment or retooling of existing equipment.
- Prepare and conduct all sourcing activities for major external tooling and equipment purchases, gathering information on products, production rates, and assembly requirements.
- Prepare equipment operators by supporting the launch team with training and providing reference materials and technical support.
- Monitor and support the plant during equipment installation, certification, run-off, and launch, escalating any issues to leadership as needed.
- Work closely with the PC&L (Production Control & Logistics) team to optimize material flow to the production line and ensure efficient operations.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of company operations, including sequencing, subassembly, shipping, and receiving.
- Coordinate and conduct program change requests to ensure timely and effective implementation.
- Collaborate with Quality Engineers to integrate quality tools (PFMEA, Reverse PFMEA, Control Plan, and error-proofing plans) into the design of assembly processes and equipment, delivering a robust manufacturing system that meets engineering and quality standards.
- Develop and update policies, procedures, methods and work guidelines to maintain process integrity.
- Promote health and safety best practices in all phases of engineering, installation, and launch activities.
- Protect organization value by keeping information confidential, cautioning others regarding potential breaches.
- Analyze and improve existing manufacturing processes and develop, test, and implement new production methods to increase productivity, reduce waste, and ensure consistent product quality, using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
- Create and maintain clear work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs/SWS), and accurate process documentation.
- Collaborate with design, quality, maintenance, and production teams to resolve process and equipment issues, driving timely corrective actions.
- Perform root cause analyses for process deviations and non-conformances and implement sustainable solutions.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate reports to track manufacturing efficiency and quality metrics.
- Ensure that all manufacturing processes comply with company safety policies and industry standards.
- Participate in audits, continuous improvement initiatives, and meetings to maintain and enhance process standards.
- Maintain archived equipment records to ensure proper history and organization.

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Experience: +5 years of experience in assembly and/ or manufacturing
- Experience with APQP system
- English: Advanced
Travel Required: Minimal
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and operations workflows.
- Knowledge of tooling, equipment, automation, engineering specifications (interpretation and application of GD&T, process diagrams, PFMEA, and Control Plans), and cost reduction strategies in automotive assembly applications.
- High level of analytical ability and problem-solving skills for complex and unusual issues.
- Good decision-making skills, with the ability to understand technical concepts and apply engineering judgment.
- Good oral and written communication skills to convey technical information clearly and effectively.
- Ability to analyze data and apply statistical tools for process evaluation and improvement.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of safety regulations relevant to manufacturing environments.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and have a positive attitude.
- Willingness to occasionally work flexible hours to support production demands.
- Knowledge of CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks) to design tools, fixtures and plant layouts.
