About our client : Our client is a New York-based wholesale apparel company specializing in licensed products, known for delivering innovative, high-quality apparel tied to top global brands.

Position Summary

A Royalty Analyst plays a crucial role in industries like entertainment, publishing, and licensing, where tracking and managing royalty payments is essential.

Responsibilities

• Royalty Calculations & Reporting: Analyze and calculate royalty payments based on contracts and sales data; prepare and certify royalty statements for artists, authors, or licensors; ensure accuracy and compliance with contractual terms.
• Contract Interpretation: Review and interpret licensing and royalty agreements; extract financial terms and conditions for reporting and payment processing.
• Data Management & Systems: Input and maintain data in royalty management systems; use tools like Excel, Access, and specialized royalty software to manage and analyze data.
• Audit & Compliance: Assist with internal and external audits; ensure royalty payments comply with tax and legal regulations.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with legal, finance, and operations teams to resolve discrepancies; respond to inquiries from licensors, clients, and internal stakeholders.
• Forecasting & Analysis: Review historical data to create revenue projections; conduct variance analysis and prepare reports for management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience
• Prior experience in royalty accounting, contract management, or financial analysis is preferred
• Basic understanding of the licensing business model and the structure of licensing agreements
• Advanced English Level

Hard Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite : Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including advanced formulas, data manipulation, and reporting features), and strong working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.
• Data Analysis and Reporting Tools : Experience with data analysis tools and reporting software is a plus.
• Understanding of Accounting Principles : Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting concepts relevant to royalty calculations.
• Contract Interpretation : Ability to understand and interpret legal and commercial terms within licensing agreements.
• Data Management : Ability to manage and organize large datasets effectively.
