Linux devices software engineer – snapd Join Canonical to apply for the Linux devices software engineer – snapd role. The company is founder‑led, profitable, and growing with more than 1,200 colleagues across 75+ countries. Teams meet two to four times a year in person to align strategy and execution. We are hiring a Linux devices software engineer on our SnapD team to work on mission‑critical Go code focused on software delivery, containers, security sandboxing, telemetry, and device management. Snaps are next‑generation software packaging and delivery for Linux, designed for safety, security, and robustness with application‑specific confinement of containers optimized for IoT devices, desktops, and servers. Our goal is that snaps work across multiple Linux flavors to make it easier for publishers to reach the Linux world. This role requires an obsession with quality and performance, an interest in software publishing and consumption, and a passion for open‑source development. We value collaboration, peer reviews, unit and integration testing, and maintainable code. General knowledge of Linux as a developer platform is required; prior experience with Go is highly desirable. Location Remote in the EMEA or Americas regions.
