Engineering Managers at Canonical are expected to be outstanding engineers who can troubleshoot, contribute technically, and shape team direction. They focus on managing talent, guiding projects, and participating in technical presales to achieve quarterly goals. Role ResponsibilitiesLead and develop a team of field engineers across presales and professional services Design and deploy cloud solutions such as OpenStack, MicroCloud, Ceph, Kubernetes, and others Engage in presales activities by providing technical advice Mentor and manage team performance and career development Collaborate with stakeholders, partners, and customers Implement engineering best practices and project planning QualificationsKnowledge of cloud computing platforms and technologies (Kubernetes, OpenStack, AWS, GCP, Azure, Ceph) Practical Linux and networking skills Experience in technical presales and team leadership Excellent communication skills in English Willingness to travel up to 40% Desired SkillsSecond language (Spanish or French) Python programming Experience with external partners and stakeholder feedback BenefitsRemote work with biannual in-person team sprints Learning and development budget of USD 2,000/year Annual performance reviews and bonuses Comprehensive leave policies and family benefits Travel opportunities and company events About CanonicalCanonical is a leader in open source, known for publishing Ubuntu and advancing AI, IoT, and cloud technologies.
