The position is based in São José dos Campos, Brazil, and is part of the Fuselage Stress Liaison group, reporting to the Senior Structures Manager. This leadership role emphasizes mentoring, collaboration with global sites, and fostering a culture of engineering excellence and safety. Primary statement of work is Stress Liaison for the Boeing South Carolina site and 787 Program. ResponsibilitiesLead cross-functional teams in the assessment and resolution of complex product/process issues discovered throughout the product lifecycle. Manage a wide variety of concurrent work statements, including long and short flow assignments. Lead employees performing engineering and technical activities in Mechanical & Structural Engineering. Develop and execute business plans, policies, procedures and organizational/technical strategies. Acquire resources, provide technical management of suppliers and lead process improvements. Develop and maintain relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Mentor and develop team members’ technical and leadership capabilities; support hiring of engineering team. Facilitate daily team stand-ups and promote LEAN practices; communicate effectively with lead engineers, management and team members. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)Must have existing rights to work in Brazil. Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or Civil Engineering. Must be registered or eligible to register with the Engineering and Agronomy Regional Council (CREA). Proficient in English (verbal and written). Experience in Structures Engineering; experience in factory or fleet support. Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience)Knowledge of airframe design and manufacturing methods; composite design and analysis; static, fatigue, and damage-tolerance analysis. Engineering knowledge in mechanical/structural fields: design, loads, thermal/fluid analysis, certification. Experience defining and optimizing processes across the product lifecycle; knowledge of cost and estimating techniques. RelocationThis position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Additional InformationThis requisition is for a locally hired position in Brazil. Candidates must have current legal authorization to live and work in Brazil.
