Finance Transformation Consultant

This role will require frequent travel to Houston Texas.

We are seeking a Finance Transformation Consultant to support a Finance and Accounting transformation project. In this role, you will assist with implementing new financial systems and optimizing financial processes. This position requires onsite presence and regular local travel to client offices within the Greater Houston area.

We are looking for candidates with strong critical thinking abilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the determination to deliver high-quality work. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in management consulting or accounting transformation.

Job Description (The Work)

As a Finance Transformation Consultant, you will support process design and system implementation for FP&A and Accounting functions. An ideal candidate should have domain expertise in the following areas:

Financial Planning & Analysis (Budget & Forecast)

• Forecasting and strategic planning
• Transactional finance

Controllership

• Record to Report (Month-End Close) - R2R processes and procedures
• Sub-ledgers and account reconciliations
• Transactional matching
• Closing and reporting
• Reporting and analysis

Accounting

• Procure to Pay (P2P)
• Order to Cash (Revenue & Billing)
• Processes and workflows

Qualifications

• CPA qualification is a plus.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment with high comfort in ambiguity.
• Strong problem-solving skills: ability to independently analyze, structure, and drive solutions to complex problems.
• Prior experience in the oil, gas, chemicals, manufacturing, terminals, field operations, or utilities industries.
• Familiarity with accounting systems and financial ERPs.
• Previous experience in management consulting or finance transformation projects.
• Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics.
• Highly detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong prioritization skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and perform in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• A strategic thinker who can grasp the “big picture” and facilitate discussions in high-pressure situations.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with customers and cross-functional team members.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
