Reeb Millwork, an SBP Brand, is looking for a Sr. Production Manager to join our VALUES-based organization. We seek to serve people first, and we operate according to a moral compass aimed at doing what is right even when it is hard.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for assisting the leadership of all those employed within a branch, including but not limited to:
  • Establishment of priorities to assist in the operation of company and branch goals.
  • Distribution of work in order to meet company and customer needs.
  • Establishment of goals and objectives as determined by management.
  • Establishment and adherence to standards, policies, and procedures within the framework of SBP culture and values.
  • Motivation of employees to perform at the highest level and within the scope of US Lumber values.
  • Development of personnel by identifying strengths/weaknesses and building on strong points while developing weak ones.
  • Resolution of personnel issues in accordance with set company policies, practices, and procedures.
Responsible for assisting with production management within a branch, including but not limited to:
  • Effectively resolving customer complaints and ensuring quality customer service.
  • Enforcing safety procedures and policies to ensure a safe work environment free of hazards.
  • Striving to ensure quality outcomes of products the first time, responsible for correcting quality errors and fixing processes to avoid future quality errors.
  • Planning and establishing work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
  • Partnering with human resources to resolve worker problems and complaints.
  • Recommending or implementing measures to motivate employees and improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
  • Hiring, training, evaluating, and discharging staff.
  • Reading and analyzing charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
  • Coordinating operations and activities within or between departments/locations.
  • Interpreting specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.
  • Maintaining operations data such as time, production, and cost records, and preparing management reports of production results.
  • Determining standards, budgets, production goals, and rates based on company policies, equipment and labor availability, and workloads.
  • Calculating labor and equipment requirements and production specifications using standard formulas.
  • Directing and coordinating production, processing, distribution, and marketing activities.
  • Staying within budget and approving expenditures for supplies, materials, and human resources, ensuring that materials, labor, and equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets.
  • Reviewing processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
  • Reviewing operations and conferring with technical staff to resolve production or processing problems.
  • Initiating and coordinating inventory and cost control programs.
  • Preparing and maintaining production reports.
  • Setting and monitoring product standards, examining samples of raw productions or directing testing during processing to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality.
  • Developing and implementing production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, and other operational reports to detect production problems.
  • Coordinating and recommending procedures for facility and equipment maintenance or modification, including the replacement of machines.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of the quality control field, relying on current literature pertaining to materials use, technological advances, and statistical studies.
  • Ensuring inspection of materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Managing production with minimum waste and quality errors.
  • Observing work, monitoring processes, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production standards.
  • Participating in monthly safety committee meetings.
Responsible for assisting components of branch cost management, including but not limited to:
  • Warehouse labor and expense.
  • Delivery labor and expense.
  • Sales cost and commissions.
  • Administration cost.
  • Inventory integrity, quality, adjustments, and write-offs.
  • Maintaining the local branch to all established U.S. Lumber standards and programs.
  • Administration of a safe work environment for all employees.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized facility.
Responsible for participating with Senior Management and colleagues in the establishment of company direction and the implementation of those programs and policies at the local level.Responsible for the establishment and maintenance of a professional and cohesive work environment.

Education: Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or university) preferred.

Experience:

  • Eight or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment plus 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Five plus years in a management/supervisory position plus 2 years in a manufacturing facility.
  • Bi-Lingual (Spanish), preferred but not required.
