Position OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our infrastructure team in managing and modernizing our hybrid infrastructure environment. This remote position requires an experienced engineer with deep expertise in VMware, Hyper-V, and Azure cloud platforms. You will play a critical role in infrastructure projects and migrations while working to optimize our 30/70 on-premises to cloud workload distribution. Reporting directly to the VP of IT and DevOps, you will collaborate with Infrastructure Architects, DevOps/SRE teams, and fellow Infrastructure Engineers.Key ResponsibilitiesLead infrastructure projects including migrations from cloud to on-premises and cloud to cloud environmentsManage and optimize VMware and Hyper-V environments spanning 400+ VMsDesign and implement Azure infrastructure solutions including VMs, networking, and storageDevelop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform for automated provisioning and managementEvaluate and implement infrastructure management tools to replace/enhance current Morpheus deploymentEnsure backup and disaster recovery strategies are implemented and tested regularlyCollaborate with DevOps/SRE teams on Kubernetes container workload infrastructureShare network infrastructure responsibilities with the infrastructure teamAutomate routine tasks using PowerShell, Python, or other scripting languagesMonitor infrastructure performance and implement improvements for reliability and efficiencyCreate and maintain documentation for infrastructure architecture and processesParticipate in on-call rotation for critical infrastructure issuesProvide technical guidance on infrastructure best practices and standardsRequired Skills & Qualifications8+ years of infrastructure engineering experienceExpert-level knowledge of VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V platformsStrong experience managing hybrid workloads across on-premises and cloud environmentsHands-on experience with Azure infrastructure services (VMs, VNets, Storage, Load Balancers)Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code using TerraformAutomation and scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash)Solid experience with both Windows Server and Linux operating systems, with emphasis on WindowsUnderstanding of networking concepts and troubleshootingExperience with backup and disaster recovery solutionsStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsExcellent communication and documentation abilitiesAbility to work independently in a remote environmentMust be able to read and speak fluently in EnglishPreferred QualificationsAzure certifications (Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect)VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or higherExperience with Morpheus or similar cloud management platformsKnowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestrationExperience with monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Elastic, Prometheus, Grafana)Background in security compliance frameworks (SOC2, ISO27001)Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practicesWork EnvironmentThis is a fully remote positionMust be available for occasional meetings across global time zonesOn-call rotation participation required for critical infrastructure issues
