Senior System Analyst

• Act as a partner with the business to facilitate and implement technology solutions.
• Write technical database system specific requirements to ensure the technology solution meets business needs and enterprise data standards.
• Gather, interpret and analyze information from written documentation and in-person discussions.
• Gather, interpret and analyze system data across multiple business lines (e.g. Brokerage, Bank, Trust) and data systems (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, Mainframe).
• Create detailed functional requirements for Enterprise Services using business-appropriate terminology.
• Create detailed non-functional requirements (e.g. service levels, availability).
• Create detailed service mapping and design requirements using actual technical database constructs.
• Execute development integrated testing to ensure solutions meet business functionality.
• Validate test cases prepared by Quality Management resources to ensure full coverage.
• Provide support for application development teams including documenting business processes.
• Translate technical concepts to business audiences and business information to technical audiences.
• Participate in developing estimates and implementation plans for technical solutions.
• Collaborate with team members to develop project schedules, reports and documentation.
• May act as project lead on small projects and/or provide direction to others on the team.
• Work with User Experience / Design resources to visualize requirements into prototypes.
• Provide updates to management on requirements status, project risk remediation and change requests.
• May occasionally work non-standard shifts including nights and/or weekends and/or have on-call responsibilities.
• Contribute to the software development lifecycle from inception to final implementation.
• Work closely with developers to define, build and test solutions, often on multiple projects/workstreams.
• Create and maintain business requirements (functional and technical) and obtain sign-off.
• Create functional solutions, conduct FSD walkthroughs and obtain sign-off.
• Collaborate with data sourcing to validate data completeness from acquisition to report delivery.
• Ensure correct understanding of requirements and own the functional delivery end-to-end with developers.
• Define testing requirements with the QA team.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with the business to ensure alignment with requirements and project resources.
• Ensure projects are completed according to product specifications and properly documented.
• Work with stakeholders during UAT to ensure reports meet requirements and all deliveries are signed off.

• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Computer Science, MIS or related field and a minimum of seven (7) years of relevant development, testing or engineering experience (or combination of education, training and experience).
• 7+ years of experience as a Business System Analyst in custom software development.
• 5+ years of experience in Financial domain (Banking, Insurance, Investing, Fintech) and Fixed Income products.
• Excellent technical writing skills and ability to document software requirements and architectures clearly. Ability to present and explain software requirements to different groups including engineering teams and business stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of how to gather, analyze and document business requirements.
• Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills. Ability to negotiate requirements and project schedules with customers and external vendors.
• Excellent analytical skills with ability to learn from customers, analyze past projects and advise on strategies and reusable technical solutions.
• Experience leading small, medium, and large-scale technology projects.
• Understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Basic understanding of Java/Scala technology stack and software architecture.
• Basic understanding of NoSQL data stores (e.g., Cassandra).
• Basic understanding of IaaS and PaaS concepts.
• Experience with API design and documentation.
• SQL experience and ability to write functional requirements for web services and validating them via a tool such as Postman.
