Operations Director Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Director to lead our team and drive business success.

Job Summary:

The Operations Director will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end operation of our business, including strategic planning, production management, supply chain optimization, quality control, inventory management, team leadership, and process improvement.

  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with company goals
  • Collaborate with leadership to set operational objectives and KPIs

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:

  • Drive operational excellence by identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes that increase efficiency and productivity
  • Develop and implement plans to minimize costs and reduce lead times

Production Management:

  • Oversee manufacturing processes to ensure high-quality products are produced efficiently and effectively
  • Identify and implement improvements to increase efficiency and productivity

Supply Chain Optimization:

  • Manage relationships with suppliers and logistics partners to ensure seamless operations
  • Develop strategies to minimize costs and reduce lead times

Quality Control:

  • Ensure all products meet quality standards and specifications
  • Implement quality management systems and continuous improvement processes

Inventory Management:

  • Optimize inventory levels to balance cost control with product availability
  • Develop forecasting models to anticipate inventory needs

Team Leadership:

  • Manage operations staff, including production, logistics, and warehouse teams
  • Provide mentorship and training to develop team capabilities

Process Improvement:

  • Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to streamline operations
  • Lead lean/six sigma initiatives to enhance operational performance

Compliance:

  • Ensure operations adhere to regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and certifications

Requirements:

To succeed as an Operations Director, you should have:

  • Proven experience in operations management, preferably in a senior role
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions
  • Experience with lean/six sigma methodologies
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards
