About the Role Senior Data Engineer – Oowlish, a rapidly expanding software development company in Latin America, is seeking an experienced technology professional to build and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure. You will collaborate with premier clients from the United States and Europe and have the opportunity to impact company operations from ETL processes to data modeling and analytics readiness. Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines and data lake architecture. Ensure data quality, reliability, and security across all data flows. Collaborate with leadership, DevOps, research, and customer support to prioritize and deliver solutions. Work independently, taking ownership of solutions and driving impactful results in a startup‑style environment. Participate in cross‑time‑zone collaboration, including QA/debugging during Pacific and Hong Kong overlapping hours. Qualifications – Must Have 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles. Advanced programming skills in Python. Hands‑on experience with Apache Airflow (MWAA a big plus). Experience with Snowflake. Strong SQL skills. Ability to work independently and take ownership of solutions. Previous experience in small company or startup environments. Comfort collaborating with multiple teams as the sole data engineer. Proactive communicator, responsive on Slack during work hours. Nice to Have Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Google Cloud). Experience with monitoring and logging tools. Knowledge of data quality and observability best practices.
