Position Overview

Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead an Engineering Team within a renowned American fintech organization. This is a unique opportunity to join a forward-thinking company at the forefront of financial technology innovation. You will bring expertise in software engineering and a background in the fintech industry.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for building high-quality software products. As a Software Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in shaping the direction of our software development efforts and ensuring the successful delivery of projects.

Requirements:

  1. API development and SDK experience from the client side.
  2. Ideally 5 years of management experience.
  3. Software architecture background highly desired.
  4. Experience working with remote teams is desired.
  5. Fintech industry experience is a must-have.
  6. English skills C1 or higher.

Main Duties:

  1. Build a team of developers (Nearshore).
  2. Build high-scale and high-quality distributed systems.
  3. Build and deliver mission-critical, 24x7 production software systems.

Responsibilities:

  1. Vision and Mission: Set the vision, mission, charter, purpose, and goals for the software engineering team, ensuring alignment with the overall company strategy.
  2. Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  3. Performance Management: Implement performance management processes, including setting clear goals, conducting regular performance evaluations, and providing constructive feedback.
  4. Retention and Development: Develop and implement strategies for employee retention, professional development, and career growth, ensuring high levels of team engagement and satisfaction.
  5. Project Oversight: Oversee the design, development, and deployment of software solutions, ensuring they meet high standards of quality, performance, and security.
  6. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Design, and QA, to define project requirements, scope, and timelines.
  7. Best Practices: Drive the adoption of best practices in software development, including agile methodologies, code reviews, testing, and documentation.
  8. Problem Solving: Identify and address technical challenges, bottlenecks, and risks, and implement effective solutions to mitigate them.
  9. Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, and incorporate them into the development process.
  10. Strategic Planning: Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making, aligning engineering efforts with business goals and objectives.
  11. Resource Management: Manage resource allocation, budgeting, and staffing to ensure optimal team performance and project delivery.
