Derivatives Trading Specialist Job Description

The Commodities Asset class is being onboarded to an Equity Derivatives Trading desk at a leading financial institution. The ideal candidate will join a client team involved in project initiation through implementation, focusing on validation and issue resolution.

Responsibilities:

  • Resolve daily FO issues on functional, valuation, and pricing
  • Address daily issues stemming from the FO Equity Derivatives desk
  • Work closely with EQD Desk Traders to address L3 issues
  • Amend pre-trade rules, eTradePad, simulations for trading desks
  • Resolve requests or issues with P&L, Market Data, and booking tasks
  • Analyze, propose, develop, and contribute to solutions as per PROD Support deliverables
  • Liaise with technical teams to resolve FO related issues and enhancements
  • Manage day-to-day assigned project tasks for various trading deliverables
  • Yield Curve issue resolution and validation; curve assignments; new curve creation
  • Follow up on global market regulations and practices continuously
  • Perform various levels of testing for assigned deliverables and participate in release cycles (SIT/UAT)
  • Develop Business requirements per stream and according to Project needs

Requirements:

  • Strong product knowledge in EQD, COM
  • Very strong understanding of FX, IRD business concepts
  • Strong understanding of P&L components and overall concept
  • Hands-on experience in Market Data, Curve structure, Simulations, Trade Life Cycle
  • Experience supporting FO users and resolving their daily issues
  • 5+ years experience with Murex FO functionalities
  • 4+ years experience in financial markets roles
  • SQL proficiency
  • Logical and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented, quick learner, self-starter
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organization skills
