Description
As a Domain expert, you will join Transformer R&D team, part of the Technology organization of business unit Transformers, contributing to the successful roadmap execution defined for your team. In this role you will be responsible for supporting and leading Research and Development projects related to Transformer. Your focus will be contribution towards engineering and diagnostics around transformer service portfolio, best practices collection, standardization and coordination of improvements within Transformer Service HUBs and local units together with Technology Centers and Research teams.
Your impact
As a Domain expert, you will join the Transformer R&D team and contribute to roadmap execution by supporting and leading R&D projects related to Transformer service engineering, diagnostics and standardization in collaboration with Technology Centers and Research teams.
Responsibilities- Run standardization projects, propose and develop new engineering and life cycle assessment concepts around new service, and simulate their expected performance in real pilots.
- Organize prototyping and testing activities to validate new / existing transformer services.
- Develop standard policies, instructions, and training material to ensure effective implementation of targeted processes from engineering, quality and knowledge transfer perspectives.
- Provide support to other team members and local units when needed (operations, engineering, product management, product marketing, ...).
- Participate in and assist team members in a variety of more complex operations activities.
- Engage in global collaboration with scientists of Hitachi Energy Research team and Technology Centers, Technology Managers and Engineers from various GPGs (Service / PT / DT).
- Master’s degree in engineering with a major in electrical engineering, physics, or similar.
- More than 5 years of proven experience within electrical design (dielectric, magnetic and thermal calculation), condition assessment and testing of power transformers is desired.
- Experience with advanced numerical simulations (e.g. magnetic or dielectric simulations); proficiency in commercial simulation tools (Ansys, Infolytica, etc.) is valued.
- Proven experience within transformer condition assessment and transformer testing is required.
- Innovative mindset with the ability to think creatively.
- Excellent teamwork abilities in international teams with strong interpersonal skills.
- A high level of self-motivation.
- A collaborative, structured, problem-solving, self-driven, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
- Fluent spoken and written English. Other languages are an advantage.
