Job Title: Snowflake Platform Architect

Location: Flexible/Remote

Introduction: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Snowflake Platform Architect to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the design and implementation of our data solutions on the Snowflake platform. Your expertise will be crucial in driving our data-centric projects, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.

As an architect, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data architecture that aligns with our organizational goals.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Design and develop robust, scalable, and secure data solutions using the Snowflake platform.
  2. Lead data modeling efforts to ensure the data architecture is optimized for efficient storage and retrieval.
  3. Write complex SQL queries and develop scripts in Python to facilitate data manipulation and analysis.
  4. Implement and maintain ETL processes, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
  5. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data requirements and translate these into technical specifications.
  6. Guide the selection of appropriate AWS or GCP services to support the data architecture, ensuring optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
  7. Oversee the migration of data from legacy systems to Snowflake.
  8. Establish and enforce data governance and compliance standards.
  9. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  10. Stay current with industry trends and new technologies, incorporating them into the infrastructure as appropriate.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  2. Professional certification in Snowflake and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) is highly desirable.
  3. A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in data architecture, with proven expertise in the Snowflake platform.
  4. Significant experience with data modeling, SQL, and ETL processes.
  5. Strong programming skills in Python or a similar language.

Desired Skills and Knowledge:

  1. In-depth knowledge of cloud services (AWS/GCP) and their application to data warehousing solutions.
  2. Familiarity with additional programming or scripting languages.
  3. Experience with data governance, security, and compliance measures.
  4. Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work on complex systems.
  5. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively in a team environment.

Tools Required:

  1. Snowflake data warehousing platform
  2. SQL and Python programming tools
  3. ETL tools and software
  4. Data modeling tools and software
  5. Version control systems (e.g., Git)

To be Successful in This Role: You will need a strong foundation in data architecture principles and hands-on experience with the Snowflake platform. Your ability to create and maintain scalable and efficient data solutions will be critical. A deep understanding of cloud services, particularly AWS or GCP, along with proficiency in SQL, Python, and ETL processes, will ensure your success.
