We’re looking for a Data Engineer to join one of our projects in one of our client’s projects.

It’s a temporary position, 6 months contract (extension not disclosed).

English is required as it’s an international project.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain robust batch and real-time data pipelines in production environments
  • Optimize data infrastructure for precise extraction, transformation, and loading from diverse sources
  • Develop ETL processes to extract, manipulate, and transform data from multiple sources
  • Design, develop, and maintain data models supporting Otto Car's products, data, and operational processes
  • Automate data workflows including ingestion, aggregation, and ETL processing for enhanced efficiency
  • Prepare raw data in Data Warehouses into digestible datasets for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and functional leaders to deploy machine learning models in production
  • Build, maintain, and deploy data products for analytics and data science teams on cloud platforms, specifically AWS
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, privacy, security, and compliance through rigorous quality control procedures
  • Monitor data systems performance and implement optimization strategies to enhance efficiency and reliability
  • Leverage data controls to maintain privacy, security, compliance, and quality standards
  • Analyze and mitigate potential impacts of technical changes on business and technical processes
  • Evaluate project constraints and devise alternative solutions to reduce risks while driving process re-engineering efforts
  • Foster transparency within the team by openly addressing challenges, failures, and successes


Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience as a data engineer
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or similar field
  • Advanced SQL skills and proficiency with relational databases and database design
  • Experience with cloud Data Warehouse solutions, preferably AWS (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Azure)
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying machine learning models and reporting solutions in production
  • Familiarity with DataOps principles and best practices
  • Strong proficiency in object-oriented languages such as Python, Java, C++, or Scala
  • Proficient in scripting languages like Bash
  • Strong proficiency in data pipeline and workflow management tools (e.g., Airflow, Azkaban)
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, project management, and organizational skills
  • Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
