Educational Technology Specialist

JOB MISSION:
Provide essential support to educators, and students through faculty, and the IT department in facilitating the effective use of technology for teaching and learning. This includes assisting with the integration of technology into the curriculum, troubleshooting technical issues, and promoting digital literacy among students and faculty to enhance the overall educational experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide advanced technical support to teachers and students, assisting with software and hardware issues, troubleshooting, and resolving technical challenges in the classroom and events;
- Manage and organize digital resources, including educational software, e-books, and online materials, making them readily accessible to educators and students;
- Facilitate training sessions and workshops for teachers and staff to enhance their digital literacy skills and proficiency with educational technology tools;
- Assist students in using technology for academic purposes, provide guidance on research and digital projects, and foster responsible digital citizenship;
- Ensure that classroom technology equipment, such as interactive whiteboards, projectors, and tablets, is properly set up and maintained for instructional use;
- Collaborate with the IT department to communicate and prioritize technical needs in educational settings, ensuring the seamless functioning of technology resources;
- Promote digital safety and responsible online behavior among students, guiding them in understanding privacy, cyberbullying prevention, and ethical technology use;
- Collaborate with educators to integrate technology into lesson plans and curriculum, ensuring that digital tools enhance learning outcomes and align with educational goals;
- Assist with data entry, management, and analysis related to student performance and digital learning tools, helping educators make data-informed decisions;
- Ensure that digital resources and technology tools are accessible to all students, including those with disabilities, and provide support in implementing accessibility features;
- Maintain an inventory of educational technology equipment, track its condition, and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology is Required. This person does not need to have a teaching degree as all interactions with students will be through the teacher.
LANGUAGE:
English - Fluent
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
Between 3 and 5 years
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of K–12 curriculum design, especially IB PYP/MYP/DP frameworks
- Experience aligning educational technology tools to enhance teaching and learning outcomes
- Advanced knowledge of Google Workspace for Education Plus
- Fluency with LMS platforms
- Proficiency with instructional tools
- Solid understanding of AI in education
- Knowledge of coding and robotics platforms used in K–12
- Experience designing and delivering tech PD
- Knowledge of adult learning theory and effective faculty onboarding
- Experience participating in EdTech rollouts, migrations, or pilots
