Autonomous Haulage System Software Engineer

The Autonomous Haulage System (AHS) is a comprehensive fleet management system for mines. Key to its success is the team responsible for building innovative solutions to unique and challenging autonomous operation problems. This role will have you work closely with our partners around the world, helping design and support the next generation of mine optimization technologies. As a key member of the AHS Product Development team, you will conceive and design innovative automation products in collaboration with experienced cross-disciplinary team members. You will engage directly with customers to understand their needs and clarify product requirements. Strong leadership skills are essential, as you will lead the design, development, monitoring, and enhancement of services our team provides for Komatsu customers. This includes Autonomous Haulage System services like machine coordination, equipment management, navigation planning, collision detection, and safeguard management. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed in an open and collaborative peer environment. What We Need Leadership experience in software development 5+ years of programming experience with strong Java coding skills 2+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team Advanced English (written and verbal) for global team collaboration Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience Experience in event-driven microservices and REST API's Ability to take a project from scoping requirements to production operations Demonstrated ability to mentor other software developers to maintain architectural vision and software quality Experience in continuous integration and delivery, with testing automation Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
