Senior HPC Cluster Support Engineer This role involves providing high-level technical support for large-scale production HPC environments running Bright Cluster Manager and Slurm. Key Responsibilities: Cluster Administration: Job submission management, queue optimization, and user assistance to ensure seamless operation of the HPC environment. Health Monitoring: Real-time tracking of cluster status, identification of node failures, networking issues, and domain problems to prevent downtime. Troubleshooting: Diagnosing hardware faults (GPUs, boards, power, nodes) and performing remote checks using BMC tools to minimize system disruption. Vendor Coordination: Collaborating with vendors to repair or replace faulty components, ensuring prompt resolution of technical issues. System Updates: Applying patches, configurations, and upgrades to maintain a stable and secure HPC environment. Required Skills: Bright Cluster Manager and Slurm Expertise: Strong experience with these technologies is essential for successful cluster administration and job submission management. Linux Systems Administration: Advanced knowledge of Linux systems, including troubleshooting, configuration, and maintenance. Hardware Diagnostics: Proficiency in using BMC remote management tools to diagnose hardware faults and perform remote checks. HPC Storage Systems: Experience with InfiniBand, Panasas storage, and vendor escalation is crucial for effective HPC environment management. Active Directory Integration: Knowledge of Active Directory integration for Linux is beneficial but not required.
