Job Description

Our Outbound (OB) Manager at a Sort Center is responsible for all budgetary, people development, and operational objectives.

The Site Leader oversees all aspects of operations and functions at the site. Key responsibilities include managing and leading a team of sub-area managers; coaching and mentoring them to meet performance objectives; fostering positive employee relations; and developing leadership talent within the Sort Center.

Additionally, the role ensures effective stakeholder management across Delivery Stations, Fulfillment Centers, Safety, Loss Prevention, and Middle Mile teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive creation of quality initiatives, process improvement initiatives, and other Lean initiatives to enable their functional area and ultimately the Sort Center to meet and exceed the business plan.
  • Responsible for the overall safety, quality, performance, and customer experience of Inbound, Processing, or Outbound operations.
  • Set and clarify requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers; measure performance, provide feedback, and hold Managers accountable for their performance.
  • Leverage Operations and Area Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas, rolling them into improvement plans.
  • Share best practices across all departments, shifts, and the network.
  • Collaborate with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT, and other Senior Operations Managers) to secure support and resources for projects and initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • Strong background in people management and shop floor operations.
  • Proficiency in English (oral and written).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, operations, supply chain, or transportation logistics.
